Thread Lifting Tightens Your Skin in Just One Appointment
We know it’s frustrating that as you get older, your age begins to show. In some cases, your skin can betray you to even look older than you actually are, leaving you lacking self-confidence. Luckily, PDO thread lifting offers an easy solution to your face or neck lift wishes. Using dissolvable sutures, PDO thread lifting is a process in which a medical professional inserts a very fine needle to weave the sutures into your facial tissue and pull the skin upward, giving you an instant face lift. These are popularly used on the eyebrows, cheeks, jaw, and neck; however, it can be used essentially anywhere on your body.
This relatively painless procedure is facilitated in our office under a topical anesthetic. We then will draw markings on your skin to designate where the skin will be lifted. When the area is numb, we begin inserting the sutures beneath the skin and wrapping the thread around the sagging skin. When we retract the needle, the thread pulls the skin up creating a lifting effect. The number of sutures necessary depends on the amount of lift you want. Because this treatment requires no cutting or surgical incisions, there is no scarring or visible remnants of the procedure.
Schedule an AppointmentWhat Can I Expect After My Thread Lifting Procedure?
Following your appointment, most patients are able to return to their daily activities with no downtime. If you do experience any pain, it can usually be managed with general pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Icing the area can help with any swelling or discomfort, as well. Once any swelling or bruising has subsided, your results will become evident in about 1-2 weeks. One of the upsides of this treatment is that it stimulates your skin to produce more collagen, prolonging the results long after the sutures have dissolved. Typically, the results last for several months and can last longer depending on how much collagen your body produces. Of course, the procedure can be repeated if you want to restore your tight skin.
